As I read through the WORD OF GOD, one thing that is evident is that the DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST preached the WORD, Christ Himself.  They never failed to let the people know WHY JESUS CAME and WHAT HE DID FOR US.  The preaching of the CROSS EXPERIENCE, the MATCHLESS LOVE that HE DEMONSTATED, was a part of their WITNESS unto HIM.  In addition, they taught others the LIFE LESSONS that He had taught them.

We, all too often, place little emphasis on the WHO of Christianity.  Why do we call ourselves Christians?  Why should others desire to BECOME CHRISTIANS? What did JESUS suffer?  And why?  What did HE teach us through HIS LIVING here on earth?  Why should we have FAITH and why should it continue to grow?  How do we make it through this PILGRIM JOURNEY here on earth?  Who should we TRUST? And why do we forget to tell those who are open to ACCEPT HIM that this will not be a “cake-walk”, that this is the opening up of themselves to BE USED BY HIM, that it even involves much SUFFERING?

Watered-down RELIGION has caused our places of WORSHIP, our church homes, to become places where we go to be “hyped” by man.  We so often leave out of “church” not with THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS on our minds, but with the lifting up of man, choirs, and anything else that goes on during that span of time.  We fail to so often realize that “we are the church” and we gather in a building.  Instead of telling the preacher that “THE WORD that God brought through you has inspired me to move on a little further” or “I was convicted today and I vow to live a changed life.”  All too often we somehow tell them something like – “You did it today, you told them!”  The glory is somehow redirected to people.  And instead of us being motivated to GO OUT AND SPREAD THE WORD OF GOD, THE LOVE OF JESUS, we are looking forward to the next time we “go to church” to be “hyped” again.  Have we forgotten that attending church, be it Sunday Church Service, Bible Study, Sunday School, etc., is for the purpose of EMPOWERMENT?  This should be OUR TRAINING GROUND … our SCHOOLING, our place of DIVINE FELLOWSHIP not only with others but with GOD whom we say have redeemed us!

It’s high time to GET BACK TO THE BASICS OF LIFE, to get back to PREACHING THE WORD, teaching of HIS MIGHTY LOVE and HIS MINISTRY that was able to compel others to join in on KINGDOM BUILDING.  Who will go?  Whom can HE really send?  Who will go out into the fields?  The highways?  The by-ways?  How do we get church-goers to BECOME KINGDOM MINDED?  By making it imperative that we TRAIN OTHERS TO PREACH THE WORD!  Teach them to be “like-minded”, that the GOSPEL, THE GOOD NEWS, may be spread abroad.

Paul traveled and as he traveled, so did the GOSPEL.  The attention wasn’t on Paul but it was on the ONLY ONE that could turn him around and put him ON THE RIGHT ROAD!  The Word says in Romans 1:1 that Paul was A SERVANT OF JESUS CHRIST, called to be an apostle, SEPERATED unto the GOSPEL OF GOD.  Who are we serving?  What are we?  Are we even separated and if so … unto whom?

Let’s get back … let’s determine to GET BACK TO THE BASICS in order to DO THE BASICS, grow the kingdom while here on earth so that WHEN JESUS COMES BACK TO GET HIS OWN, He’ll find a people who were BUSY ABOUT “HIS” BUSINESS and CAPTIVATED! BY HIS LOVE….

Paul continues in Romans 1:13-17 – “Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have SOME FRUIT AMONG YOU also, even as among other Gentiles. I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. So, as much as in me is, I AM READY TO PREACH THE GOSPEL to you that are at Rome also. FOR I AM NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST: FOR IT IS THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION TO EVERY ONE THAT BELIEVETH; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD REVEALED FROM FAITH TO FAITH: as it is written, THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.”
